Product: small capacity firefighting vehicle
Beneficiary: General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations
Base vehicle: IVECO DAILY 70C18H van
This first response firefighting vehicle brings as a novelty the possibility of using a coldcut™ cobra cutting extinguishing system that provides extremely high efficiency usage of water, spraying it in the form of mist. Another advantage is the minimization of damage to property and the environment, precisely by reducing the amount of water used. The process of cutting through conventional building materials is possible by using, in combination with the water jet, an abrasive compound whose pumping is automatically stopped when the target obstacle is penetrated/cut. To increase the efficiency of the intervention with this system, as well as to increase the safety of personnel, the vehicle is also equipped with a thermal imaging camera that allows the identification of hidden hot spots, the correct choice of the cutting area, and facilitates the search and evacuation of victims.
In addition to the advantage of rapid movement and access to confined spaces, thanks to its size, the vehicle can be supplied with water from hydrants or other vehicles, in addition to its own tank.
The vehicle has an 800-liter water tank, and the coldcut™ cobra system pump also allows the use of foam when the type of fire requires it. In addition to the thermal imaging camera, the vehicle is equipped with the main firefighting accessories, but also with other equipment, at the request of the beneficiary, such as telescopic lighting mast mounted on the superstructure, a combined extrication tool, blankets for extinguishing vehicle fires, a metal cutting device, a pendulum electric saw, an LED flashlight, and so on.
The vehicle is also available in a version without the coldcut™ cobra system, which allows for either an increase in the volume of the water tank, the addition of other equipment/accessories, or a combination of the two.
